Georgia is a reliable corridor for addressable flows between the Caucasus and Europe and between Central Asia and Europe. This concept is being based on the historical Silk Road for centuries that gives Georgia a significant geopolitical role. Georgia is developing a new deep-sea port that is intended to have 100 mln tons capacity. In addition, major works for Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Project were completed and the new railway line was officially opened in October 2017. This railway has significant importance for the region, as it connects Georgian and Azerbaijan railways to the Turkish one. In parallel, the country’s main road network – East-West Highway is being constructed intensively. These projects are aimed to increase the main geopolitical asset of Georgia – transit potential. According to the World Bank Group, Georgia Ranks as the 3rd Least Tax Burdened Country in the World, with 9.9% Total Tax Rate.
